The Midwest Economy Index (MEI) was, on balance, unchanged at +0.51 in September, and remained above average for the sixth straight month. The relative MEI moved up to +0.36 in September from +0.13 in August. September’s value for the relative MEI indicates that Midwest economic growth was somewhat higher than would typically be suggested by the growth rate of the national economy.
