Index Points to Little Change in Midwest Economic Growth in July
The Midwest Economy Index (MEI) edged up to –0.27 in July from –0.30 in June. Contributions to the July MEI from three of the four broad sectors of nonfarm business activity and one of the five Seventh Federal Reserve District states increased from June. The relative MEI was unchanged at –0.06 in July. Contributions to the July relative MEI from two of the four sectors and two of the five states increased from June.
